Meta presents "super-smart" glasses with AI-powered displays that can be controlled via a wristband with barely-there movements. They were unveiled at Meta Connect 2025 by the company's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, who calls these glasses one of the next steps in human-computer interaction. The Meta Ray-Ban Displays will be available on the market starting September 30th for $799. "Glasses are the only tool that allows artificial intelligence to see what you see, hear what you hear," and ultimately "generate what you want to generate, like images or videos," Zuckerberg said, speaking at the group's headquarters in Menlo Park, California. Ray-Ban is a brand of the EssilorLuxottica group, whose main shareholder is the Del Vecchio family.

With integrated screens, the new Meta Ray-Ban Displays allow wearers to see messages, photos, and more as if they were looking at a smartphone screen . “Our goal is to make beautiful glasses that deliver personal superintelligence and a sense of presence using lifelike holograms. These combined ideas are what we call the metaverse,” Zuckerberg explained, noting that AI-powered smart glasses will be the “next great computing platform,” eventually providing access to “superintelligence” and replacing the smartphone.
